The Indian government has launched a major initiative aimed at digitizing the agricultural sector with a significant investment of ₹14,000 crore. One of the key components is the Digital Agriculture Mission, receiving ₹2,817 crore to incorporate digital tools and data-driven practices in farming. This will not only improve productivity but also increase transparency and market access for farmers.
Additionally, climate-resilient farming practices are being promoted through new schemes to ensure sustainable agriculture, helping farmers adapt to changing climate conditions. The focus on green practices will enhance long-term food security and reduce environmental impact.
India also saw a 2.2% increase in kharif crop sowing in 2024, now covering over 1,092 lakh hectares, indicating strong agricultural growth.
This combination of digital transformation and climate awareness positions India’s agricultural sector for sustainable growth in the coming years.
